OnePlus 10 Pro Everything You Need To Know About This New Smartphone Beast

OnePlus 10 Pro: Everything you need to know about this new smartphone beast.

The new OnePlus 10 Pro is the company’s next flagship phone, and it’s finally here.

For global technology giant OnePlus, 2022 has been an exciting year, particularly in the Indian market.

The company had some excellent releases in the first quarter of the year, which grabbed the interest of tech geeks and resulted in increased purchases.

Surprisingly, only the Oneplus 10 Pro will be released this year, with no basic OnePlus 10 or the anticipated 10R model for India.

When will the OnePlus 10 Pro be available?

After originally showcasing the phone at CES 2022, OnePlus unveiled the OnePlus 10 Pro in China on January 11.

A few months later, on March 31, the firm publicly introduced the OnePlus 10 Pro globally, with North America, India, the United Kingdom, and Europe as important markets. The phone is currently available for purchase in all of these countries, except for the United States, where it will be available from April 14.

Pre-ordering the phone in the United States promises early delivery and comes with a free bonus in a pair of OnePlus Buds Pro.

It’s worth noting that the OnePlus 10 Pro will be released only this year. Pete Lau, the co-founder of OnePlus, confirmed to TechRadar that no more phones in the OnePlus 10 series are in the works, ruling out a standard 10 and the rumoured 10 Ultra.

What is the price of the OnePlus 10 Pro?

Below are the costs for the OnePlus 10 Pro in the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, and India, respectively:

$899/£799/€899/₹66,999 for 8+128GB

£899/€999/₹71,999 for 12+256GB

What are the OnePlus 10’s new features?

OnePlus has published every key spec now that the phone is official. So let’s discuss all its specifications one by one.

OnePlus 10 Pro Specifications:

The OnePlus 10 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, Qualcomm’s most recent flagship mobile technology.

Oneplus 10 pro comes with 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage, which is pretty standard for OnePlus.

The white Extreme Edition of the phone, as previously reported, has 512GB of storage, although this isn’t available in the other colors.

Moving on to the battery, we’ll get a 5000mAh unit, which is a significant upgrade over the 9 Pro’s 4500mAh cell.

The phone supports 80W wired charging — the quickest yet from OnePlus – and 50W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging.

However, this isn’t the case everywhere. For example, the company explained in a forum post that “80W SuperVOOC does not yet support 110 or 120-volt AC power — the normal standard for power outlets in the region,” so the consumers in the US are limited to slower 65W charging.

Surprisingly, they’re called SuperVOOC and AirVOOC, respectively. Those are the brand designations for Oppo’s charging standards, as opposed to OnePlus’ own Warp Charge – yet another little tweak as Oppo attempts to integrate OnePlus into the parent brand more tightly.

One plus 10 Pro Design

The smartphone’s official design was first presented by OnePlus, though it’s not new to us, as the exact design was leaked by OnLeaks and Zouton back in November of last year.

The default colours of the OnePlus 10 Pro are Volcanic Black and Emerald Green, with a Ceramic White ‘Extreme Edition’ of the phone that is currently limited to China. Surprisingly, the OnLeaks article indicated that the phone would also come in a bright blue finish, which we have yet to see.

A 6.7-inch curved display on the front with a punch-hole selfie camera in the top-left corner, identical to previous Pro models.

There is no official IP classification for dust or water resistance.

However, OnePlus has confirmed that a carrier-exclusive model in the United States has an IP68 rating – the best available – and no build quality differences between that model and the others. So it appears that the phone would meet IP68 standards, but OnePlus refused to pay for certification, though we can’t say definitively.

It measures 8.55mm thick and measures 163 x 73.9mm across the front, and it weighs 200.5 grams.

There’s also the camera module to consider. It has a flash and a triple camera array – more on that later.

The design is more unorthodox, with the way the module wraps around the frame evoking the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, although the module doesn’t quite reach the top of the phone.

Display with 120Hz AMOLED display with LTPO 2.0 technology

The display is 6.7 inches across the diagonal, as previously stated.

The phone has a 120Hz AMOLED display with LTPO 2.0 technology, allowing for a dynamic refresh rate of 1Hz to 120Hz.

Oneplus used the original version of the same technology in the one plus 9 Pro, but OnePlus claims that the new display shifts refresh rate faster, making it even more power-efficient.

Camera specifications

In terms of the camera specifications, the OnePlus 10 Pro module houses three rear camera lenses:

  • A 48-megapixel primary sensor.
  • A 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens.
  • An 8-megapixel telephoto lens (not a high-zoom periscopic lens like some competing flagships).

All three are Hasselblad-branded camera lenses.

The camera on the 9 Pro has a similar kinda set-up, but there have been some changes. The most significant hardware upgrade appears to be the ultra-wide camera, enabling a 150° field of view.

If you want to keep things more traditional, the new lens can snap 110° wide-angle images (the default ultra-wide option), or there’s a fisheye mode if you want to go all-in and highlight those curved edges even more.

Aside from that, there are further camera improvements. All three rear lenses can shoot 12-bit RAW+ photographs in the new Hasselblad Pro mode, which combines the versatility of RAW with some of the phone’s existing computational photography features.

Finally, a new Movie Mode lets you tweak ISO, shutter speed, and other settings before and during video recording. You can also record videos in the LOG format.

The OnePlus10 Pro has a 32MP punch-hole camera on the front, upgraded over the 9 series’ selfie cameras, with twice the resolution.

Oxygen OS-based Software

On the software front, the phone runs OxygenOS 12.1 over Android 12, but not in the same way we have used before.

Pete Lau, the company’s founder, stated in a blog post in September 2021 that, following the merging with fellow manufacturer Oppo, the two brands were integrating their OS departments into a single team.

As a result, OxygenOS (OnePlus) and ColorOS (Oppo) now use the same codebase.

The original plan was to make the front-end user experience universal across OnePlus and Oppo phones, despite the Chinese Oneplus 10 Pro running ColorOS 12.1.

The smartphone has retained an OxygenOS-based user experience globally, as detailed in a post by Pete Lau issued in February 2022, in a decision to partially walk back the unified OS approach.

Samsung Galaxy M33 5G Review

Samsung has just released the Galaxy M33 5G, which is the successor to the Galaxy M32 5G from last year. The display, the faster SoC, the larger battery, and the faster-charging capabilities are just a few of the improvements, and the price has also moved up. These are our initial thoughts after having the opportunity to test out the smartphone.

  • What’s inside the box?
  • The Samsung Galaxy M33 5G smartphone is in ocean blue, with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
  • Connector Type-C
  • SIM ejector
  • Guide to Getting Started and Warranty Information
  • Samsung has recently begun removing chargers from even its mid-range phones, so this one does not come with one.
  • The characteristics of the Samsung Galaxy M33 5G

In comparison to the predecessor’s HD+ screen, the M33 5G boasts a 6.6-inch Full HD+ Infinity-V Super LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen is bright even outside, with a brightness of up to 800 nits. The Samsung Galaxy M33 5G features a 128GB storage capacity and is powered by the latest Exynos 1280 5nm SoC. It has 6GB/6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 8GB of additional virtual RAM via the RAM Plus function. When it comes to gaming, the performance is adequate for everyday use but falls short of the Snapdragon 778G found in the Galaxy M52 5G.

It is compatible with 5G bands. The phone is powered by Android 12 with the One UI 4 skin on top. Samsung has promised two OS updates and four years of security fixes for the phone. Samsung Pay with NFC, Knox Security, and Secure Folder are also included.

An 8-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 aperture is housed within the V-shaped notch. On the upper edge is the earpiece grill. The phone features a proximity sensor but lacks an ambient light sensor, so it uses the front camera for auto brightness adjustment. Below the screen, there is a small chin.

The power button, which also serves as a fingerprint sensor, and the volume rockers are found on the right side of the device. The dedicated dual-SIM + microSD slot is located on the left side. The 3.5mm audio jack, primary microphone, USB Type-C connector, and the loudspeaker grill are all situated on the bottom. The secondary microphone is located on the top of the device.

Because the sides have a shiny surface and a plastic frame, they are likely to attract fingerprints. It has Dolby Atmos, despite the lack of stereo speakers. However, it only works when you connect wired or wireless earphones.

A 50-megapixel main camera, a 5-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 2-megapixel depth camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera make up the phone’s quad-camera setup. The rear camera can record in 4K at 30 frames per second, while the front camera can only record in FHD at 30 frames per second.

  • Pricing and availability of the Samsung Galaxy M33 5G in India

The base 6GB + 128GB storage model of the Samsung Galaxy M33 5G costs Rs. 18,999 in India. The phone is also available in an 8GB + 128GB storage option for Rs. 20,499. Samsung, on the other hand, is providing both versions for Rs. 17,999 and Rs. 19,999, respectively, as introductory pricing. “There’s no way of knowing how long the trial will last.” “Android 12 is the operating system, with the One UI 4 skin on top.” The Samsung Galaxy M33 5G will be available for purchase on Amazon and Samsung India’s online shop starting April 8 in two color options: green and blue.

Customers who use ICICI Bank cards can get up to Rs. 2,000 in instant cashback when they buy the Samsung Galaxy M33 5G. “There will also be no-cost EMI choices and exchange incentives available for the phone.”
